Qmamu Indian Search Engine Like Google
Qmamu Indian Search Engine Like Google: Friends, in today’s post, we will learn about 6 Indian search engines made in India, but if you want to know about Google, then you can read the post on what is Google?
Google is the first word that comes to the mind of most of us when we hear the search engine. Big search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, Duck-Duck-Go, and Baidu have captured the Internet market for years. The competition in this segment of the Internet is so high that big companies (even Apple) shy away from launching their own search engine.
Google is an American search engine. Americans use Google. The Chinese use their indigenous search engine “Baidu” and the Russians also use their country-made search engine “Yandex”.
But have you ever wondered why India does not have any search engine of its own? Has India never tried to build its own search engine? If similar questions arise in your mind, read this post till the end, because in this I have told you why India does not have any popular search engine of its own?
Does India have any search engines of its own?
Yes!” India also has search engines like Google, but they are not much developed, so they are not very popular among people and very few people know about them.
As most of us know that the internet started in India quite late as compared to developed countries. In developed countries such as America etc., the era of the Internet and search engines started in the 1990s, whereas in India this era started largely after 2005. By this time foreign Internet companies had firmly established their foothold in the Indian Internet market, due to which small Indian companies did not get much opportunity to expand and could not go much further.
However, in 2006, two students who graduated from IIT Delhi went to California to create an indigenous search engine named Guruji.com with $7 million in funding from Sequoia Capital. But due to some reason, it didn’t run very much and eventually shut down.
This is the reason why a big country like India does not have any popular search engine of its own!
1. Guruji (guruji.com)-
Anurag Dodd and Gaurav Mishra, two graduates from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, together in 2006 launched India’s first major search engine, guruji.com.
He established this search engine by taking a fund of $ 7 million from America’s famous funding company Secolia Capitals. In this, he also gave people the option to search for music and artist. After running for a few years, this search engine was closed in 2011 due to some reasons.
2. Epic Search-
This search is not made in India but has been made keeping in mind the Indian people. It is much more advanced than other Indian search engines and works quite well.
It was created by Alok Bhardwaj in 2010 and he also has a browser named Epic Browser which is very privacy-centric.
3. Khoj Search Engine (123 Khoj)-
123khoj.com is an Indian search established in 2014 and still working today.
Its interface is largely similar to that of Google, but its standard is not at all. It shows very cheap results.
The headquarter of this search engine is in Chandigarh.
4. Bilsir–
Bilsar.com is an Indian Search Engine on which we can search for hotels, Music, Shopping, Jobs, etc.
This search engine was established in 2011.
5. Rediff
Rediff is an Indian news, shopping & entertainment website, and search engine, headquartered in Mumbai. It has been operating since 1996.
6. Justdial-
Justdial is a local Indian search engine on which we can easily find businesses around us.
It was established in 1996 by VSS Mani in Mumbai. This search engine works very well. But it is quite different from a common search engine. Today more than 12000 employees work in Justdial.
7. 13Tabs-
Two engineer brothers Sagar and Varun Mishra living in Dhanbad, after 3 years of hard work, launched this indigenous search engine in the name of 13Tabs.com in 2016.
Elder brother Sagar has done B. Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication from Jaipur. During his engineering studies, he thought of creating an Indian search engine. At the same time, his younger brother Varun also finished his engineering and since then both brothers started making this search engine.
At the time of its launching in the year 2016, more than 7 crore web pages were present in this search engine, whose number has increased manifold today. While building the search engine, 3 computers of these two brothers crashed.
If we talk about user experience, then 13tabs shows very great and relevant search results compared to Indian search engines. Apart from this, many new features like Fact Checker have also been included in it. Do try it once.
8). QMAMU:
Inspired by the self-reliant India campaign, qmamu.com is India’s own new search engine. It was launched on 26 January 2021.
It is a very advanced search engine and new technology, which matches Google to a great extent, has been used in it. You must try it once. You can access it by visiting qmamu.com or with the help of the qmamu browser.
Use the country’s own search engine only once. There may be some inconvenience in the beginning but in the long run the country and indirectly you will also get the benefit.
